Privacy Policy
Polas, by Housegram Srl · Last updated 13 October 2026
Polas is a private photo-sharing app for friends. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how to delete it. The data controller is Housegram Srl, Italy.
What we collect
- Account: your email address or Sign in with Apple identifier, your name, username and profile photo.
- Your content: the photos, captions, voice notes, places, comments, reactions and moments you create.
- Friends: who you are friends with and who you blocked. If you allow contacts access, phone numbers are hashed on your device and only the hashes are compared; numbers are never uploaded in clear.
- Notifications: a push token, to send you notifications you can turn off in Settings.
Your live location is used only on your device to show you on the map and suggest places; it is never saved or shared. A place is stored only when you choose to tag it on a pola. Voice notes are transcribed with Apple's speech recognition.
How we use it
Only to run Polas: show your polas to the people you choose, notify you, and keep the service safe (reports, blocks, bans). We don't sell your data, we don't show ads and we don't track you across other apps or websites.
Where it is stored
On Supabase servers in the European Union (Ireland). Emails with login codes are sent through our email provider.
Retention and deletion
We keep your data while your account exists. Delete a pola to remove it for everyone; delete your account from Settings to permanently remove your profile, polas, comments and friendships.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can access, correct, export or delete your data and object to its processing. You can also complain to the Italian data protection authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali). Polas is not meant for children under 13.
